Old Town Albuquerque Shoot

We added new clients to the DRP Family this weekend with this Old Town Albuquerque Shoot. I was so excited to get to photograph these little ones. Only it was their loving Grandma that was in all the photos with them. Mom and Dad let them have the spotlight with the matriarch of the family. Those little ones love their grandma and she surely adores them right back.

Not to mention how easy these little ones were in front of the lens. This Old Town Albuquerque shoot was a tough one. Being that everyone wants to be outside with any sort of warm weather right now, Old Town was packed. Crazy busy and bustling with Holiday Cheer. We made the best of it, waited patiently for each location while other photogs grabbed their images with their clients, all the while the 3 children were happy to be outside and ready to smile when it was time. The sweetest bond between the two sisters was adorable to watch. The littlest one looked up to her sister and had no problem doing anything and everything she asked. I think I’m hiring big sister as my new assistant.

I think the best part of this session was that Grandma had a fun surprise up her sleeve for her grandkids. When it came time they all sported HOLIDAY FUN headbands. The kids loved them and didn’t want to take them off. All I can think is this Grandma must be a blast to have in the family! Such a lovely family all around. My heart was exploding with excitement to photograph them.

All in all I am so happy to meet new friends and can’t wait til Mom and Dad are ready to jump in on the next session. Hoping 2021 is the year we take the Big Family Photo!

Friends and Family Session

I call my last session a Friends and Family Session because the family taking the photos included her closest friend, who pretty much might as well be part of the family. They have been BFFs MUCH longer than I have known them, and they are still inseparable. The kids love her like an aunt, and she adores them right back. Now Mom has a wonderful new lady in her life and they are all just one big happy friends and family!!! My heart was exploding with all the love. Such a blessing to watch this team together.

Even more-so, little brother was the only one out of the three to get upset throughout the whole session. The reason why, you ask? Because he wanted to be holding his brother and sister in the picture. If that is not the sweetest thing, I don’t know what is! The siblings seemed like best friends to me. What more can you ask for? This Friends and Family Session was a great one to have right before Christmas Break.

Family Snow Session

I had the pleasure of photographing a fun family snow session for none other than the Morning anchor for KOAT Channel 7 News here in ABQ, Royale Da. She is just the most down to earth mom. Mom Goals through and through with Royale. Her and her husband Chad are such a great team with their little crew.

Their two little ones didn’t know what to expect, as this was their first official photo session as a family. Poor little man stumbled in the snow before we got started, but recovered quickly. And little lady was such a sweet and shy soul. She wasn’t ready for my crazy photog ways. This led the way for a more organic session. Sweet girl was in charge and we let her decide what she was comfortable with. In that, we captured some pure parent moments and family connections. MOMming at its best. Also, there is nothing more precious than a Daddy’s Girl (If I do say so myself!). The tenderness and care they both showed her was awesome to watch. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of it. Side note, little man was so very go with the flow and up for anything!

Overall, This was such a fun family snow session…Take a look:

Fourth of July Canyon Family Session

Fourth of July Canyon Family Session. Today is the first day of my favorite season, of my favorite month, of my favorite time of year. To celebrate I am posting my own family’s session. This is the Fourth of July Canyon Family Session. I hadn’t been back to this location since the first year back living in New Mexico. The spot was not as vibrant as I had remembered, and so much more busy with foot traffic (Thanks Covid) but it was still wonderful to see. And to show it off to my little ones too. We actually shot my oldest brothers elopement at Fourth of July Canyon 5 years ago, in October. I should have come back much sooner. And am willing to go back next year and shoot more families here. Let me know if you want to join us!

The shoot was fast and furious as usual when you take your own photos. (Every year we say we are not going to do it, but here were are again.) Nonetheless we did it and we got one we loved, and what more can you ask for. I even had two little assistance so me and my hubby could take our own couple photos. The family shoots are getting more fun each year.

Take a look!
