In honor of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month I am posting my own nursing photo of me and my 7 month old.
Breastfeeding is such a beautiful and healthy practice for mom and her baby.
It wasn’t until I became a mom myself did I realize there was an issue on public breastfeeding. As a newborn photographer I have always been comfortable with it and did not know that it was still taboo in public.
I think the big question some people have is why are we moms making such a “big deal” about needing/wanting to breastfeed in public?
We are hoping to get to a point one day where is it not a “big deal” anymore; a day where it is normal to do so.
I hope that one day my own daughter will not be scrutinized by her piers around her because she wants to feed and nurture her baby in complete comfort wherever she feels she needs to do so.
Kudos to all moms who are advocates for their babies health and safety, whether it be through breastfeeding, supplementing, formula feeding, stay at home moms, working moms, etc. We are all striving for the same things; happy, healthy little humans.
Such a beautiful picture!
It doesn’t get more precious than this! Gorgeous photo…
