What Photography Means to me? Growing up, photography was my creative outlet. I photographed everything. Posing each couple or group, sporting event, dance. No knowledge of what I was doing. Eventually, I thought I was going to be a sports photographer. Little did I know that after watching my oldest brother take his senior photos, I would be hooked. The portrait photographer in me came alive.
Now, as a seasoned photographer, with a bachelors degree in fine art, I have much more meaning behind what photography means to me. I get to meet and continue to see my clients in the most celebratory times in their lives. Each milestone is a time to stop and capture the moment. Newborn Photography being my favorite, is the shortest time in the lives of a parent. The first year milestone comes on so fast. Maternity, of course is 9 months, but not always the most glamourous. However, I do love showing expecting mama’s how beautiful they are.
I always hope to see my clients each year. It is so important to be present in photos. If not for ourselves than for our families. Time is fleeting, and we must hold onto it in some way. I find that most people learn this too late.
